Hydraulic Pump & Motor Repair

When a hydraulic pump or motor fails, the question is rarely just “can it be fixed” — it is whether the workshop doing the work can be trusted to do it properly. Twin Hydraulics Engineering has been in fluid power since 2009, is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and is a Bosch Rexroth Certified Excellence Distributor. We repair and overhaul hydraulic pumps and motors from every major manufacturer — not only the brands we distribute — and every rebuild is backed by a 6 to 12 month warranty, with express turnaround in 1–3 working days where the parts are on the shelf.

Why our qualifications matter for a repair

Anyone can open a pump. The difference is whether the rebuild is done to a documented process, with measured clearances and verified performance, by a company accountable to an audited quality system.

  • ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management. Our repair process is documented, controlled and auditable, from goods-in inspection through to final test.
  • ISO 45001:2018 — Occupational Health and Safety. Pressure testing and heavy component handling carry real risk; our workshop is certified to manage it.
  • ISO 14001:2015 — Environmental Management. Used hydraulic fluid, flushing solvent and contaminated components are disposed of properly, not quietly.
  • Bosch Rexroth Certified Excellence Distributor. Direct factory access for genuine parts, technical data and application support — and the training that goes with the appointment.
  • In fluid power since 2009, with engineering, supply and workshop capability under one roof and branches in Shah Alam and Butterworth.

You can view our current certificates, including certificate numbers and certifying bodies, on our certifications page.

Warranty and turnaround

  • 6 to 12 months warranty on rebuilt pumps and motors, depending on the unit and the duty it returns to. We stand behind the work — a rebuild that fails inside the warranty period comes back to us.
  • Express repair in 1–3 working days where the required spare parts are available. When a line is down, that difference matters more than anything else we can offer.
  • Standard turnaround depends on parts availability and the extent of the damage. We confirm a realistic date with the inspection report, before you commit — we would rather quote a date we can hold than one that sounds good.

Being a Bosch Rexroth Certified Excellence Distributor with our own parts inventory is what makes the express option possible: for many units the components are already in Shah Alam or Butterworth rather than on order from overseas.

Brands we repair

Our workshop overhauls hydraulic pumps and motors from Bosch Rexroth, Parker, Kawasaki, Linde, Danfoss, Eaton and most other major manufacturers. Being a Rexroth distributor does not limit what we will take in — it means we know what a properly rebuilt unit is supposed to measure and perform like, and we apply that standard to every make on the bench.

What we repair

  • Axial piston pumps and motors — variable and fixed displacement, open and closed circuit.
  • Gear pumps and motors — external and internal gear types.
  • Vane pumps and radial piston units.
  • Controls and compensators — pressure, load-sensing and power-limiting controls that are often the real fault rather than the rotating group.
  • Hydrostatic transmission units from mobile and industrial machinery.

How the repair works

  • Strip and inspect. The unit is dismantled, cleaned and measured, and every worn component identified.
  • Report before work proceeds. You get findings and a quotation first. Nothing is rebuilt until you approve it.
  • Rebuild to specification. Correct clearances, genuine or manufacturer-equivalent parts, and controls reset to the original settings.
  • Test-bench verification. Every rebuilt unit is run and verified against its original performance figures — flow, pressure and control response — before it leaves us.
  • Documented and returned. You receive the unit with its test results, so you know what you are refitting.

Repair or replace?

On smaller pumps, replacement is often the economical answer and we will tell you so. On larger units, and on obsolete models where no replacement is available, repair is frequently both cheaper and faster — sometimes the only route left. Our inspection report gives you the numbers to make that decision rather than a guess.

One thing worth knowing either way: a pump that has failed once will fail again if the cause is still in the system. Metal debris from a failed unit circulates and destroys its replacement. We can test a fluid sample and advise on flushing and filtration before the rebuilt unit goes back in.

Send us your unit

Tell us the make, model or type code stamped on the nameplate, and what the machine is doing wrong — loss of pressure, loss of flow, noise, overheating or external leakage. A photograph of the nameplate is usually enough for us to start. We will confirm what we can do, what it is likely to involve, and whether your unit qualifies for express 1–3 day turnaround, before anything is committed.

Drop-off or collection can be arranged through either branch: Shah Alam, Selangor and Butterworth, Pulau Pinang. See also our full range of services and our hydraulic pump catalogue if replacement turns out to be the better option.
