The Rexroth 4WRKE is a pilot-operated high-response proportional directional valve with on-board electronics (OBE) and electrical position feedback. Closed-loop control of the main spool position gives it far better repeatability, hysteresis and step response than a standard proportional valve, which is what closed-loop position, velocity and force control on presses, test rigs and injection moulding machines needs.
Why OBE matters. With the amplifier built into the valve, the machine only has to supply power and a command signal — typically ±10 V or 4–20 mA — instead of a separately mounted, separately tuned amplifier card. Wiring is shorter and less noise-prone, the valve arrives pre-matched to its electronics, and replacement is a like-for-like swap. The trade-off is that the electronics and the valve are a single item, so the type code has to be quoted in full.
These valves sit between conventional proportional valves and true servo valves in dynamic performance. If the application does not need closed-loop accuracy, a 4WRZ / 4WRH will usually do the job for less.
What we need to quote: full type code or material number, nominal size, rated flow, spool symbol, command signal type, supply voltage, connector, and the pilot supply and drain arrangement.
