The Rexroth 4WRTE is a pilot-operated high-response proportional directional valve for the large nominal sizes — the end of the range where flow demand is beyond what NG10 and NG16 valves can supply. Electrical position feedback on the main spool keeps the response repeatable despite the size and mass of the moving parts.
These valves are specified on big presses, forging and extrusion equipment, steel-mill hydraulics, test benches and marine and offshore systems, where a single axis may need several hundred litres per minute under closed-loop control. Because the pilot stage has to shift a large main spool quickly, pay close attention to the pilot supply arrangement: internal or external pilot, internal or external drain, and whether a pilot pressure-reducing valve is fitted. Undersized or unstable pilot supply is the most common cause of disappointing dynamics on valves this size.
What we need to quote: full type code or material number, nominal size, rated flow at the specified valve pressure drop, spool symbol, command signal type, whether the electronics are on-board or a separate amplifier card is needed, and the pilot and drain arrangement.
