A throttle screw is an adjustable metering element that threads into a valve body or manifold to set a flow or damping rate, most often in a pilot or control line. It is a service item rather than a standalone valve: the thread, the orifice and the adjustment range are all part of the circuit design, so a replacement has to match the original.
