Where spin-on filters fit. A spin-on cartridge combines the element and housing can in one disposable unit that threads onto a fixed head. They are used on return lines, off-line filtration loops, suction lines (with suitable low-restriction media) and low-pressure feed circuits on mobile machines, power packs and machine tools. Because there is no bowl to open, changing the element is quick and keeps contamination out of the system during service.
Selecting a replacement: match the thread and seal diameter of the head, the flow rating, the micron rating and media type (cellulose, glass-fibre or water-absorbing), the bypass valve setting and the collapse pressure. The part number printed on the existing can is normally enough for us to cross-reference to Hydac, Filtrec, Parker or an equivalent brand.
