Directional on/off valves start, stop and reverse flow by shifting a spool between fixed positions. They are the most common valve in any machine, and Bosch Rexroth's 4WE family is the reference standard across Malaysian industry — press lines, injection moulding, palm oil mills, marine deck equipment and mobile plant.

Rexroth is our certified line, but we are not a single-brand supplier — we also source directional valves from Parker, Eaton, Danfoss, Yuken and Atos, so if your machine was built around another make you do not have to redesign the manifold to buy from us.
Sizes and mounting standards
Rexroth directional valves follow ISO 4401 (DIN 24340), so a valve of the correct size drops onto any compliant manifold — including manifolds originally fitted with Yuken, Atos or Parker valves of the same NG size.

The 4WE 6 — the most popular size
The 4WE 6 is the workhorse of hydraulic control: a size NG6 solenoid-operated spool valve on the ISO 4401-03 pattern found on almost every manifold and power pack built in the last forty years. It is the most widely used directional valve size in industry, it carries the widest range of spools and coils, and it is the size we hold and supply most of.
Spool symbols — the thing to get right
The letter in the type code defines what happens in the centre position.
— E — all ports open to tank in centre; the cylinder floats
— J — A and B blocked, P to T open; the pump unloads while the actuator holds
— H — P, A and B connected to T
— G — P, A and B interconnected, T blocked
— C, D, Y — two-position and special arrangements
Fitting the wrong spool is the most common cause of a machine that "works but drifts", or one that drops its load on power-off.
Reading the type code
A code such as 4WE 6 J 6X/EG24N9K4 tells you everything: four working ports, two positions, size NG6, spool symbol J, series 6X, 24 V DC solenoid with plug-in connector. The full code is stamped on the nameplate — send us a photograph and we will match the exact replacement.
Solenoid and connector options
DC coils (G24, G12) switch faster and tolerate voltage dips. AC coils (W110, W230) draw high inrush current and burn out if the spool jams — on high-cycle machines we generally recommend DC with a rectified supply. Connector styles include the DIN 43650 plug-in (K4) and flying leads. N9 covers the concealed manual override.
Choosing a replacement
Match four things: mounting size, spool symbol, solenoid voltage (commonly 12 or 24 V DC, 110 or 230 V AC) and connector type. Where the original is obsolete, Rexroth usually offers a successor with identical mounting — we will identify it rather than leave you to guess.

Do you stock these in Malaysia? Common 4WE 6 sizes and spools move regularly through both branches. Send the type code and we will confirm availability and lead time the same working day.
Can you supply from an old part number? Yes. Rexroth material numbers beginning R9 map to a full type code, and superseded numbers can be traced to their current equivalent.
What is the difference between 4WE and 4WEH? 4WE valves are shifted directly by their solenoids. 4WEH valves use a pilot valve to shift a larger main spool, which is how bigger flows are handled.
My machine has a Yuken or Atos valve — can you replace it? Yes, two ways: we can supply the same brand, or cross to the equivalent Rexroth valve on the same ISO 4401 pattern. Send the nameplate and we will quote both so you can compare price and lead time.
My valve is a 6X series — is that current? Yes. Older 5X units are usually a direct replacement, but check the spool and coil.
