Sequence and cut-off valves explained
A pressure sequence valve (Bosch Rexroth DZ series, sizes 6 to 30) opens a secondary circuit only once the primary circuit reaches a set pressure, which is how clamp-then-drill, hold-then-eject and similar two-stage machine cycles are sequenced without electrical controls. Direct-operated DZ6DP valves suit low flows, while pilot-operated DZ10, DZ20 and DZ30 valves handle higher flows with internal or external pilot and drain options. A pressure cut-off valve (DA series) unloads a fixed pump to tank once system pressure reaches the set value, reducing heat and energy in accumulator-charging and pressure-holding circuits. Both types are available in subplate (CETOP) and sandwich (stacking) designs to fit standard directional valve stacks.
