The Bosch Rexroth A6VM is the all-purpose variable-displacement axial piston motor — a bent-axis motor whose displacement can be swung between a maximum and a minimum, giving a hydrostatic drive its equivalent of a gearbox. Reducing displacement at speed trades torque for shaft speed, so one motor can deliver high breakout torque from standstill and still reach a useful top speed without a mechanical change-gear. Control options include hydraulic two-point and proportional controls, electric proportional, and automatic pressure- or speed-dependent controls that shift the motor without operator input — which is why the A6VM is standard on travel drives for excavators, cranes, drill rigs and mobile plant, as well as on industrial winch and test-stand drives.
The type code carries size, control type, pressure rating, shaft, ports, and options such as a flushing valve, counterbalance valve or speed sensor.
What we need to quote: the full type code and material number (MNR) from the nameplate, plus quantity. If the unit is being replaced, a photo of the nameplate and of the shaft and port faces saves a lot of back-and-forth.
