The Rexroth 4WE 10 is the NG10 step up from the 4WE 6 — the same solenoid-operated 4/2 and 4/3 spool valve concept, mounted to the ISO 4401-05 (CETOP 5 / NG10) subplate pattern, for circuits that need more flow than an NG6 valve can pass without excessive pressure drop.
Selection follows the same four decisions as the smaller size: the spool symbol (what the ports do in the centre and end positions), actuation (single or double solenoid, spring centred or detented), voltage — 24 V DC and 230 V AC being the usual stocks — and the connector. Ratings reach 350 bar with flow well above the NG6 range, but as always the usable flow depends on the spool and on the switching performance limits published for the series, so quote the full type code rather than just the size.
When to move up again: once flow outgrows a direct solenoid-operated valve, the next step is a pilot-operated 4WEH, where a small NG6 pilot valve shifts a large main spool. If the application needs controlled acceleration and metering rather than simple on/off switching, look at the proportional directional valves instead.
