The Rexroth 4WRL and 4WRLE are pilot-operated high-response proportional directional valves with electrical position feedback on the main spool. They cover the middle and upper flow range for closed-loop motion control — press slides, test rigs, rolling mills, sawmill and heavy-machine axes.
The distinction in the type code is where the electronics live. 4WRL works with a separate, externally mounted amplifier card that has to be selected and tuned to match the valve. 4WRLE has on-board electronics, so the machine supplies power and a command signal — usually ±10 V or 4–20 mA — and the valve arrives already matched to its own amplifier. For a new build the OBE version is usually simpler; for a like-for-like replacement, match whatever the existing installation uses, because the two are not interchangeable without rewiring.
What we need to quote: full type code or material number, nominal size, rated flow at the specified valve pressure drop, spool symbol, command signal type, connector, pilot supply and drain arrangement, and whether you also need the matching amplifier card.
