1/4 NPT is the workhorse process connection for pressure gauges on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. NPT is a tapered thread that seals on the flanks, so it is made up with PTFE tape or a thread sealant rather than against a washer. Almost every WIKA dial size is available with this connection, and it is the default pairing for NS63 (2½") and NS100 (4") gauges on power packs, test benches and imported machinery built to US standards. Both lower (bottom) and back-connection versions are stocked, dry or glycerine-filled.
A note on threads: 1/4 NPT and 1/4 BSP (parallel, G1/4) are not interchangeable — they differ in thread form and taper, and forcing one into the other will damage the port. 1/4 BSPT and R1/4 ISO 7 are tapered but cut to a different thread angle again. If the port is on an existing manifold or gauge block, confirm the thread before ordering, or ask us for an adaptor. Every thread we stock is listed under Process Connection.
